About this build
The Hanging Gardens of Babylon have long been a mysterious world wonder. Nobody was quite sure where they were located or if they even existed. In recent years it has become clear that the mistake was placing them at Babylon and that they were actually located at Nineveh, which is modern day Mosul in Iraq. If you want to know more about the topic, I recommend the book: Dalley, Stephanie (2013). The Mystery of the Hanging Garden of Babylon: an elusive World Wonder traced. Oxford University Press. ISBN 978-0-19-966226-5
My MOC tries to recreate the recent reconstruction drawings and thus be a realistic depiction of how the Hanging Gardens may actually have looked. They were fed with water from far away, crossing the world's oldest known aqueduct in the process which you can also build. The ship battles taking place in the gardens were probably the inspiration for similar events taking place in the Roman Colosseum.
1 of these references (2 pieces) are not included — the catalogue cannot supply them right now.
